Yup, you read that right. Another social media app is getting down with the live feeds. This time it’s broadcasting live to us, versus the other way around.
Twitter will be broadcasting live news, sports, and pop culture right from its app and website daily. The company plans to air live video 24/7 on the new Twitter Network.
Do you remember when Twitter used to broadcast Thursday night football games, or the Oscar preshow ? Numbers and interaction from those events alone, skyrocketed for the company. With a 10 million increase in unique viewers and users, it makes perfect sense as to why the company would want to continue on the live video feeds.
“Our goal is to be a dependable place so that when you want to see what’s happening, you think of going to Twitter,” Twitter COO Anthony Noto told Buzzfeed.
The company is currently working to solidify partners and advertisers for this huge deal. Companies like the NFL, BuzzFeed, MSNBC and tons more are on the list of potential partners. And unfortunately there will be 15-30 seconds unavoidable ads popping up every now and then. But I guess that’s a small price to pay to be connected to the happenings of the world 24/7.
What do you think of the Twitter live feed? Will you be tuning in?
