Events This Week: Jazz Festival in BRIC House, Brooklyn.

Written By Sandee Wang

Jazz lovers in Brooklyn, we have good news for you! This week from October 8th to 15th, BRIC’s second installment Jazz festival will be live at BRIC Media House in Brooklyn. With more than 50 artists and 29 performances spanning the whole week, you will find out a varieties of featured performances every night.

Since the first annual BRIC Jazz festival in 2015, it has received a wide range of participation and positive feedbacks. This year the BRIC team will keep the momentum and provide another fest for Jazz lovers in Brooklyn. It brings the very best Jazz legends and up-and-coming Jazz artists from New York, like Terrace Martin, Eddie Palmieri (Latin Jazz Septet), David Murray (Infinity Quartet), Marc Ribot (Trio), and Jose James. They will showcase their original compositions together with imaginative new arrangement.

Also, BRIC came up with some original ideas about the curation of stages by introducing the Marathon mode. On the Marathon night, different artists will perform simultaneously on three different stages under one roof. This arrangement renders audiences the opportunity to move freely between stages or just be with their personal favorite on each night while enjoying delicious food and drink from the BRIC House café and bar.

BRIC is an outstanding presenter of free cultural programming in Brooklyn. It incubates artists and media-makers by helping them get access to the state-of-the-art exhibition spaces, performance spaces, TV studio and so on. We are glad that Tha L Spot’s brand new talk show is now being made in the BRIC’s TV studio. The show is made by and for millennials who aim to share perspectives on news, trending topics and entertainment and it will be on air in January, 2017.

Jazz lovers, are you ready to swing with melodic and rhythmic music? Check out this fabulous Jazz festival now!
