Every year, there is a song that sets the bar high dominating the title as the “song of the summer”! In 2014, Iggy Azalea’s “Fancy ” had everyone jamming. In 2015, all girls felt that they were someone’s cheerleader with OMI’s popular track “Cheerleader”. The tune that has everyone amp once the beat drops is most likely the summer anthem. It sets every party off and gets people in a jovial mood. It’s that one song people just can’t get out their head and makes them want to dance, dance, dance, dance! Although the summer is almost over, the quest is still on for summer 16’s hottest hit because there are way too many choices to choose one.
“One Dance” by Drake seems to be the crowd favorite on everyone’s playlist setting that summer mood but there are other songs out there fighting for that number one spot. Drake alone has multiple hit records on the radio. He may just need a category just for himself. Other top contenders are “Can’t stop the feeling” from Justin Timberlake, “Don’t let me down” by The Chainsmokers, “This is what you came for” by Calvin Harris ft. Rihanna and “Don’t Mind” by Kent Jones. These are all major hits climbing the ladder on Billboard’s Song of the Summer list but none have that number one slot. Songs like “Work” and “Cheap Trills” are up there too! When you think about it, there’s no way you can just choose one song that rocked the summer. Artists have really changed the game this year.
Let us know which song is your ultimate favorite this summer because I can’t think of just one.
