ThaLSpot Sits Down with “The Dolls of R&B and Hip Hop” – @SymplicityBK

On February 24th, media correspondent Oraldo and myself, attended Symplicity’s EP Listening Party presented by The Lucas Brand Entertainment sponsored by Clique Vodka at Smash Studios in Manhattan.

The spot was jazzy and the crowd was welcoming. Before the girls blessed the stage, their opening act, Victory Jones, warmed the audience. Her funkadelic vibe swayed us into craving more of the night.

Symplicity is an R&B tri0-group born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. The members are sisters, two of which are fraternal twins (find out which two in our exclusive interview). Their father, who I respectfully call, “Mr. Lucas,” manages them and is the source of their musical inclinations. Mr. Lucas performed frequently at The Apollo Theater, and would always practice in their presence. He is also the one who gave them the name “Symplicity.”

These three ladies grew up being very involved with the church, and have garnered quite a fanbase. They have appeared on 106 & Park, performed at BB Kings, the Apollo Theater and SOB’s. They have also been frequently nominated for  an Underground Music Award, and finally became victors by taking home the 2015 Best R&B/ Pop Group.

They want their fans to know that they put their heart and soul into everything that they do, whether it be performances or recording new music. They want everyone to walk away happy about every dollar spent to invest in their dream.
