Spotlight Friday’s: @THEAVESERIES REDEFINES THE WORLD OF WEB-SERIES

Brooklyn-based filmmaker Bobby Ashley is slowly redefining the world of  web-series with his latest project entitled “The Ave”. The web-series has become an over night sensation, solidifying a concrete following  and gaining recognition from industry professionals like April- Parker Jones and Edwina Findley Dickerson, stars of Tyler Perry’s hit t.v show “If Loving You Is Wrong”.

Born and raised in Brownsville, from the help of his mother and supportive family and friends, Bobby knew that he possessed  a gifted and talent that would ultimately  uplift the youth. It was a simple piece of advice from Tyler Perry that set Bobby‘s journey in motion. He began writing a series of screenplays that dealt with soul-searching, pain, and forgiveness which became a healing catharsis. His writing inspired him to produce his own projects “Thicker than Water” (2010) “Repercussions” (2014) and currently the hit web-series “The Ave” (2016).

“The Ave” centers around a young courageous Brooklyn street scammer who is on the hunt to find his best friend’s murderer but in the mist of everything learns that his own loyalty to the streets comes with a price. This aberrant, crazy and interestingly scandalous  series stars Brett Puryear, Shaniqua West, Zae Diggs, Steven Fernandez, Nelcie Souffrant, Krystal Garner, Diggs, Reggie Beneche, Alee Chery, Shumerria Harris and Guyviaud Joseph. Bobby Ashley is currently working on season two of “The Ave”, which I’m sure will be just as sensational as the first.  If you have not done so already, be sure to subscribe       to youtube.com/JETV where you will be able to watch the entire first season of this smash hit phenomenon.
