Cameron Jay: Meet the Bronx Native Making His Mark in Hip Hop

Meet Cameron Jay: NYC’s newest addition to hip-hop, hailing from the Bronx, NY (the official birthplace of hip-hop) the young artist truly follows in the footsteps of hip-hop greats before him as he embarks on his journey.

Falling in love with hip-hop at the young age of 12, Cameron Jay got involved with the craft after watching his cousin. From there he began to watch hip-hop’s major power players such as Biggie, Nas, Kanye, and Fabolous, as he worked on perfecting his own style.

After recently dropping his mixtape Money Sex Drugs and Liquor, now available on and, it’s back to the drawing board for the BX native as he cooks up some new music. According to the young rapper, one of the most important lessons he has learned being in the industry is, “No matter how talented you are no matter how perfect you think you are if you don’t put the effort or the time in your wasting your gift.”

So who is Cameron Jay, the man behind the music? According to the young rapper, when not in the studio, he’s just your average kind of guy. He enjoys the finer things in life like “nice cars, fly clothes, jewelry, the prettiest of women and being at big events.” When asked what keeps him going, “the love of what I’m doing. I love the reaction of people when they hear my music when they see me perform. The love I receive and how much I love making music keeps me going.”
