With today being the last day in March and the last day of Women’s month, we will shed light on an empowering event that occurred last week at New York University presented by Women On The Move and NYU’s Organization of Black Women of their 9th Annual Women On The Move Panel. There was a panelist of women in the entertainment industry such as high fashion model, Jessica White, Grammy Award winning Pop artist, Estelle, President of Roc Nation, Chaka Pilgrim and Journalist/NYU Professor, Kathy Lagoli, who all shared some of their personal experiences of building their brand and achieving all of their goals to those who are aspiring to follow their footsteps.
Not only was the night to inspire other women who are pursuing their dreams, the night honored the president of Roc Nation Records, Chaka Pilgrim with an award of being a women on the move and all of the opportunities she has created for others. She has been with working with Jay-z since the inception of Roc-a-fella records and now she is the president of his new company Roc Nation Records.
She was able to share words of wisdom:
“Always be honest with your clients…dishonestly will always come back to haunt you.” Its very important to have sound people around you that will help motivate and aspire you to do better.” – Chaka Pilgrim
