I recently had the opportunity of interviewing artist producer, Evan Brown and one of the artists he works with Keir. They both have an incredible list of names of collaborations of other artists they have worked with such as Sheek Louch, Lil Zane, Mary J. Blige, Gotham Citi, Havoc of Mobb Deep and many more! However, it was great being in the presence of both of them and seeing their chemistry with each other. They both share similar thoughts and they both give back to the community by teaching their talents to others. While in the studio with Evan Brown and Keir, I had the chance of getting to know them more and their journey.
Playing the piano is where Evan Brown’s musical journey started when his mom made him take piano classes. He originally did not want to go but by his mom forcing him to take it, it became a blessing in disguise. He is now one of the most sought out producers and has done songs with Paper, Keir, Farrari Fame, Bedrock Music , D Dave, Lord Vital, Gotham Citi, Uncle Murda, Shaliek, Havoc of Mobb Deep and Mary J. Blige. Although, he has worked with these artists, there are a few more artists and producers he wants to check off his list such as August Alsina, Jhene, Chris Brown, Pharrell, Rodney Jerkins, Rico Love, and Teddy Riley.
Evan Brown has been pursuing music for 15 years. His inspiration is Bryan Michael Cox. He used to mimic Bryan’s style until he found his own style and sound. He used to enter beat battles until he built his name for where artists wanted to work with him. Now when people here Evan Brown, they know that it’s nothing but EXCELLENCE from him. He considers himself like Starbucks; he has high quality. Now, Evan Brown shares his talents with children by teaching them how to play the piano. He is also a music teacher at a school where he teaches students the fundamentals of the music business as a producer and artist. He recently came back from Atlanta from the A3C Hip Hop Festival, which he was aligned with well-known DJs and artists.
While I was interviewing Evan Brown, he introduced me to one of his artist, Keir, who is a singer, songwriter extraordinaire, recording artist and a teacher from the Bronx, NY. He has been making music professionally since 2012 and has been singing since the age of 6. Keir considers himself the Prince of Pop Soul. His musical style is a mixture of pop, pop urban, country, and hip hop. Some of his influences are Michael Jackson, R. Kelly, Amerie, Adam Levine, and Bob Marley. Working with Evan Brown o the production of his upcoming album called “Mistaken”, he has a single on the way called “Bring a Friend”.
Besides being an artist, he is an entrepreneur. He started his own company called “Build A Hit Song, LLC”, which he have seminars teaching people how to write a hit song through self-expression, writing for others and understanding the business. People can visit Buildahitsong.com to join his seminars.
