Glitzy, Edgy and Golden, Etta Mae born as Shauna Renee Young from Los Angeles, California knows all about the hard knock life. “Growing up all I could remember was eviction notices, being cramped in a one bedroom apartment with my radio. I would study my favorite songs by playing them over and over,” says Etta Mae. In the 7th grade her mother took her out of school but Etta Mae managed to get her G.E.D at the age of 17. She applied to Columbia College where she was accepted but a year later had to drop out due to her inability to afford college tuition. Before she left school she landed an internship at Jive Records which inspired her to write her own songs.

Etta Mae’s first hit single is called Faithful which derived from a friend that was upset in her relationship. This sparked a mission for Etta Mae, she wanted to represent people and their relationships in her music. She is currently working on a project Chuck with producers Justin Rose and Jordan Battiste. With tracks Alive, Mean and Monster on the project her album Chuck is bound to be an exceptional album and she is on her way to becoming a Pop/Rock superstar.
